VCF 9 Automation Architect
Position Overview
Allied Global is looking for a highly experienced VCF 9 Automation Architect to lead the design and architecture of modern VMware Cloud Foundation environments, focusing on automation, orchestration, self-service cloud consumption, and enterprise infrastructure transformation.
This is a senior-level architecture role for professionals who combine deep VMware expertise with modern cloud automation, Kubernetes, networking, and infrastructure-as-code capabilities.
The ideal candidate is a strategic technical leader who can engage with customers, define architecture standards, design complex solutions, and provide technical direction while remaining hands-on with implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and design initiatives for VMware Cloud Foundation 9 environments.
- Design VCF Automation (VCFA) solutions, including self-service catalogs, blueprints, automated provisioning, and orchestration workflows.
- Define multi-tenant architectures, organizational structures, governance, and resource consumption models.
- Architect integrations across vSphere, NSX, vSAN, VKS, SDDC Manager, and Avi Load Balancer.
- Design automated networking, security policies, microsegmentation, IPAM, and VPC architectures.
- Develop automation strategies using APIs, event-driven workflows, third-party integrations, and configuration management tools.
- Define architecture standards, design policies, and technical roadmaps for enterprise VCF 9 transformations.
- Advise customers on Kubernetes, AI/ML, GPU-enabled infrastructure, and modern application workloads.
- Lead technical discovery sessions and develop detailed 30/60/90-day implementation roadmaps.
- Collaborate with deployment engineers to ensure successful implementation and operationalization of architectural designs.
Required Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in VMware infrastructure, cloud architecture, and enterprise virtualization.
- Current, hands-on VCF 9 production architecture experience.
- Proven experience designing and implementing VCF 9 environments, not limited to labs, training, or proof-of-concept projects.
- Strong expertise across vSphere, NSX, vSAN, VKS, and SDDC Manager.
- Deep understanding of VCF Automation, self-service cloud consumption, orchestration, and multi-tenancy.
- Experience designing complex enterprise networking, security, and infrastructure automation solutions.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and modern cloud-native workloads.
- Experience with customer-facing technical consulting and enterprise architecture decisions.
- Ability to communicate and defend complex technical architecture decisions.
Preferred Technical Expertise
- VKS and Kubernetes architecture.
- Avi / NSX Advanced Load Balancer.
- SaltStack automation and configuration management.
- VCF Automation (VCFA).
- Multi-tenancy, governance, and cloud consumption models.
- GPU-enabled infrastructure and AI/ML workloads.
- VMware Cloud Foundation certifications.
Preferred Certifications
- VMware Certified Professional – VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator (2V0-17.25).
- VMware Cloud Foundation Architect (2V0-13.25).
Important Requirement
Candidates must demonstrate current, real-world VCF 9 production experience and be able to clearly explain the architecture decisions and solutions they have personally designed and implemented.
Certifications, theoretical knowledge, and legacy Aria Automation experience alone will not meet the requirements.
