About the Role
Allied Global is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join an exciting project building the backend platform for a fast-growing adventure travel and outdoor community.
You'll work on a modern multi-tenant SaaS platform that powers both web and iOS applications already serving real users in production. This is a highly autonomous role where you'll own features end-to-end—from architecture and implementation to deployment and validation.

What You'll Do
🏗️ Backend Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using TypeScript.
- Build secure multi-tenant APIs with strict tenant data isolation.
- Design database schemas and implement scalable backend architectures.
☁️ Cloud & Infrastructure
- Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Monitor production environments and optimize system reliability.
🔗 Third-Party Integrations
- Build and maintain integrations with external APIs and vendors.
- Implement authentication, webhooks, idempotency, and reconciliation processes.
📊 Data & Platform Services
- Design secure partner APIs and data export services.
- Ensure proper handling of sensitive and PII data.
- Support ML platform integrations between backend services and mobile applications.
🚀 Platform Improvements
- Participate in infrastructure migrations.
- Improve system scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Deliver production-ready solutions with strong testing and validation practices.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
- Strong experience developing backend applications with TypeScript.
- Advanced PostgreSQL knowledge, including:
- Database design
- Schema migrations
- Performance optimization
- Row-Level Security (RLS)
- Experience building multi-tenant applications.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including:
- Lambda
- API Gateway
- S3
- RDS
- IAM
- SQS
- Experience integrating third-party APIs.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment practices.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Passion for building reliable, secure, and scalable software.
