QA Engineer (SaaS)
Overview
We are seeking a hands-on QA Engineer who takes clear ownership of product quality in a modern SaaS environment. This role is embedded directly in the SDLC, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to ensure releases are stable, predictable, and audit-ready. This is not a checkbox QA role; success requires deep curiosity about how systems fail, discipline in proving they work, and the ability to communicate risk clearly.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and maintain positive, negative, and full regression test suites
- Build and manage large-scale synthetic test data that mirrors production scenarios
- Perform functional, integration, API, performance, and baseline security testing
- Leverage AI-powered QA tools to improve coverage and reduce test maintenance
- Validate quality across the full SDLC, including pre-release and post-deployment checks
- Partner with Product and Engineering to identify risk early and prevent production defects
- Contribute to QA standards, tooling decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Test Automation & Tooling
- Support and extend automated test suites using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
- Use AI-driven testing platforms for test generation, self-healing automation, and analytics
- Balance automation with strong manual and exploratory testing practices
Required Experience
- 3–5+ years of hands-on QA experience in production SaaS environments
- Demonstrated expertise in positive, negative, and regression testing methodologies
- Proven experience creating and managing synthetic test data at scale
- Experience testing APIs, integrations, and multi-step workflows
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, continuous delivery environments
Technical Skills
- Manual and exploratory testing expertise
- Web-based SaaS application testing
- API testing (Postman, REST-based services)
- Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust, or similar)
- Understanding of SaaS quality concerns: multi-tenancy, backward compatibility, scalability
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery models
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience contributing to or improving QA frameworks and standards
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong written communication for defect reporting and release sign-off
- Mentorship or leadership experience within QA teams
