🧠 Role Overview

The MySQL DBA will be responsible for supporting production and development database environments, ensuring performance, availability, security, and recoverability of critical database infrastructure.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and technical services teams to optimize database operations, support product releases, and troubleshoot performance issues.

We are especially interested in candidates with recent and practical MySQL DBA experience, ideally in cloud-based environments such as AWS or Azure.

🚀 Key Responsibilities

• Own DBA responsibilities for assigned product database environments

• Manage MySQL production databases, users, and permissions

• Maintain database performance, reliability, and availability

• Manage backup and recovery strategies

• Monitor and optimize query performance

• Assist engineering teams with database-related improvements

• Support database upgrades and server maintenance

• Work closely with Development, QA, and Technical Services teams

• Participate in on-call rotation for production support

• Troubleshoot database performance and operational issues

• Collaborate with other DBAs to share knowledge across product lines

🛠 Required Skills

• Strong and recent experience as a MySQL Database Administrator

• Experience managing production database environments

• Experience with cloud database platforms

• Experience with MySQL, AWS Aurora, SQL Server, or SQL Azure

• Ability to analyze query plans and optimize performance

• Experience with backup, recovery, and database security

• Comfortable working in collaborative engineering environments

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Fluent English (required) and Spanish

🎓 Required Experience

• 2+ years of MySQL DBA experience (recent hands-on experience preferred)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
