About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong, proven hands-on experience managing production cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS.

This role focuses on core Cloud Engineering responsibilities, including cloud infrastructure management, Windows Server administration, SQL Server operations, troubleshooting, security, and production reliability.

We’re looking for a seasoned Cloud Engineer—not someone with only recent or limited cloud exposure, or a predominantly DevOps background. Recent, hands-on experience with both Windows and SQL Server is essential.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure, including VPC, networking, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, ECS, and Fargate.
  • Provision and manage cloud resources using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Administer Windows Server, IIS, patching, and application services.
  • Perform SQL Server operations, including database provisioning, permissions, backups, restores, maintenance, and release scripts.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents across cloud infrastructure, Windows, and database environments.
  • Support production releases, disaster recovery, monitoring, security, and infrastructure automation.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and operational processes.

✅ Required Qualifications

  • Substantial, proven professional experience in Cloud Engineering, managing production environments.
  • Strong practical knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Recent hands-on experience with Windows Server and IIS.
  • Recent hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting SQL Server.
  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation and production troubleshooting.
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash, plus working knowledge of T-SQL.
  • Technical skills must be demonstrated through actual work experience—not just listed on a resume.
  • A background focused on Cloud Engineering, with DevOps experience as a complement rather than the primary specialization.
  • Advanced English and Spanish communication skills.
  • Availability for US Eastern business hours, scheduled after-hours releases, and urgent production incidents when required.

⭐ Nice to Have

  • Azure, .NET, Linux, and container experience.
  • Advanced SQL Server performance tuning and high availability.
  • AWS certifications, disaster recovery, and cloud cost optimization experience.

🚀 What We Offer

  • 🌎 Fully remote work from Latin America.
  • 💵 Fixed monthly compensation of US$3,500.
  • 📄 Full-time contractor agreement.
  • 🕒 Work aligned with US Eastern business hours.
  • 💻 The opportunity to contribute to cloud infrastructure modernization and production reliability.
